JOB SUMMARY
Sovereign Strategy, a political strategy and public affairs consultancy with offices in London and Brussels is seeking to appoint an Account Manager for its London Head Office. Candidates should have at least three years’ experience of working in a public affairs or public policy development. This could be in a political consultancy or in-house; an industry association or an interest group or the civil service Experience of working in tech policy would be particularly welcome.

ABOUT THE ROLE
- Provide timely and relevant advice to clients with regular updates on regulations, policy and political developments in the United Kingdom with a specific focus on tech and financial services.
- Provide regular analysis and briefings to clients to guide the client’s positioning on relevant policies.
- Develop and execute political engagement and advocacy strategies for clients in collaboration with account teams.
- Manage and oversee junior team members who will monitor policy developments for your client accounts.
- Identify new opportunities for client profile raising and thought leadership to ensure the client benefits from the full range of our networks and experience.
- Organise and advise clients on their plans for campaigns, meetings and conferences.
- Help identify business development opportunities for Sovereign Strategy.
- Assist clients in meetings and activities that require travel within and outside the UK
MUST-HAVES
- Education: Graduate Level in Politics, Financial Services, Economics, Law or a related field
- Experience: +3 years of professional experience in Policy, Public Affairs, Government Relations, Interest Groups or NGOs working in the field of tech and financial services.
- Language Skills: Excellent spoken and written English and a fluency in another EU language is desired.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in using and managing virtual conferencing systems like Zoom, Microsoft Teams. Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Office Applications, Twitter and LinkedIn.
- Analytical Skills: Ability to deliver advice on clients’ positioning and messaging and identify engagement opportunities that contribute to clients short- and long-term objectives.
- Networking Skills: Proficiency in building and maintaining networks that are relevant to Sovereign’s client base.
- Organisational Skills: Organise, Assist or Manage relevant events and meetings for clients.
- Communications Skills: Excellent communication skills with stakeholders at all levels; high standard of written and oral communication skills.
- Social Skills: Ability to work constructively in a team, eagerness to grow and an ability to work on multiple projects and deliver work within tight deadlines. Show ability to manage client relations and track progress and communicate with management.

Salary: Competitive salary dependent on experience
