Sovereign Strategy, a London and Brussels based political strategy and public affairs consultancy, is seeking to appoint an Account Manager based within its Headquarters in London. Candidates should have at least 2-3 years of experience working in a public affairs consultancy, in the political domain, a relevant industry association or an interest group predominantly working in the field health, health tech and development.
Job Summary
The Account Manager will be responsible for providing project management support in the day-to-day operation of client accounts. The Account Manager will assist client accounts with research on regulatory and policy matters, develop presentations and briefings for clients, and support clients in managing specific projects and campaigns and the client’s stakeholder engagement portfolio.
The incumbent will work with Sovereign Strategy’s senior leadership and administrative colleagues to ensure the effective execution of the logistical, administrative and strategic policy, campaigning & communications aspects of client accounts. This role requires 10% of travel on average within and outside of the United Kingdom.
The role requires experienced knowledge and an interest in global health policy work with a focus on High- and Low-and Middle-Income countries including with a national focus on Germany and the Gulf Region. It is highly desired for the Account Manager to be fluent/professional in the German and/or Arabic language.

About the Position
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Account Manager
- Lead and manage client accounts with guidance from a Senior Manager.
- Provide timely and relevant regulatory and policy advice to clients with regular policy updates on regulations and political developments in the United Kingdom, Europe and globally with a specific focus on health and development.
- Provide regular analysis and briefing documents to clients to guide the client’s positioning on relevant topics.
- Prepare background and analytical concept notes aligned with engagement plans and objectives.
- Support Senior Management in developing and executing targeted policy campaigns for clients.
- Develop integrated PR and Communication strategies to guide the execution of the client objectives.
- Support the client’s objectives ranging from positioning, project planning, profile raise, campaigning and strategic resource mobilization.
- Identify partnerships aligned with the client’s mission and vision.
- Support and manage the organisation of events, roundtables for the client.
- Assist clients in meetings and activities that require delegation visits/ travel within and outside the UK.
The successful applicants should have
- Studied to a graduate Level in Politics, Public Policy, Public Health, International Relations, Development Studies or a related field.
- 2-3 years of professional experience in Policy, Public Affairs, Government Relations, Interest Groups, start-ups or NGOs working in the field of health, health-tech and development.
- Excellent spoken and written English and desired proficient use of German and/or Arabic.
- Proficiency in using and managing virtual conferencing systems like Zoom, Microsoft Teams. Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Office Applications, social media Tools like Twitter and LinkedIn.
- The ability to deliver strategic and proactive advice on clients’ positioning based on policy developments and identify engagement opportunities that contribute to clients short- and long-term objectives.
- Proficiency in building and maintaining networks that are relevant to Sovereign’s client base.
- Experience of organising, assisting or managing relevant events and meetings for clients.
- Excellent communication skills with stakeholders at all levels; high standard of written and oral communication skills.
- The ability to work constructively in a team with an eagerness to grow and an ability to work on multiple projects and deliver work within tight deadlines.
- The ability to manage client relations and track progress and communicate with management.
Annual Salary: £37,000 – £47,000
Job Type: 40 hrs a week (5 days a week with one day of remote working)
