Ian Robertson is a highly experienced Health, Safety and Environmental practitioner with in excess of 32 years of Service with the UK Fire and Rescue Service.
During his time with the Fire and Rescue Service Ian has served in various command and Strategic roles including; Service Health and Safety Officer within the County of Tyne and Wear for over 7 years, training Manager, Senior Fire Investigator and is a Strategic Chemical, Biological, Radiation and Nuclear Incident Commander.
Ian has also served as a National Hazardous Materials and Environmental Protections Officer and was responsible for overseeing the on-site and off-site emergency plans at several Top Tier COMAH sites including; Shell Jarrow, Rhom and Haas and International Paints.
Since leaving the service 4 years ago, Ian has acted as an independent Safety Advisor and Risk Manager within the UK, North America, Africa and The Middle East and has been responsible for developing the safety leadership training programs for KCA Duetag and Arco, Saudi Arabia.
Ian is a Chartered member of the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health and has a Master’s Degree in Risk, Crises and Disaster Management from Leicester University.
