Joseph has extensive networks and understanding of British politics and government having worked as Special Adviser in government to Baroness Valerie Amos as Leader of the House of Lords, and for Lord Peter Mandelson. Working for a cabinet minister and in both Houses of Parliament, he is capable of navigating decision-making on a cross-party basis in the Commons, Lords, with government departments and Downing Street. He worked on two winning general election campaigns at party headquarters providing briefing for then Prime Minister Tony Blair and Chancellor Gordon Brown. With his experience as a ministerial adviser, in 2008 he was recruited to the Executive Office of the London 2012 Organising Committee (LOCOG) Chairman Sebastian Coe to support his leadership of the Olympic and Paralympic Games. As Private Secretary and Speechwriter to Lord Coe he worked across Olympic directors plus political and commercial high level stakeholders. In 2012, he was charged with Games-time management of Olympic Family dignitaries at sporting venues on Olympic Park and the opening and closing ceremonies which included the Royal Family, Prime Minister David Cameron, Mayor of London Boris Johnson, international heads of state and government plus top commercial partners.
Following this experience on London 2012, Joseph has worked as a consultant on communications and government relations in the UK and in the Middle East.
In Britain, he has advised CEOs, directors, campaign groups and high-net worth individuals on a variety of projects. These include successful bids to win financial support from the Chancellor of the Exchequer in the Budget, industrial and innovation funding from the Business Secretary, targeted media strategies to raise companies and individuals’ profile in the national and regional media, plus discrete lobbying campaigns.
In the Middle East, Joseph managed a 15-strong press office team delivering media relations and training, media monitoring and bi-lingual Arabic and English writing teams focused on domestic, GCC and international media. He advised companies working on major rebranding exercises across MENA and challenging issue management with foreign media for major companies in the university, research, cultural and sporting sectors.
